The long drought, the Paraguay in the last quarter of 2008 and the most haunted quarter of this year, one of the reasons why the economy is shrinking faster than in other Mercosur countries. The economic performance, according to the Central Bank from January to March fell by 4.1%. Paraguay is so much worse off than Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. Even the ever-increasing smuggling is one of the reasons, as well as the global financial crisis.
